Spice Pots Sweet Spiced Nuts - delicious as a porridge topper
Inspired by our savoury spiced nuts recipe which goes down a treat at parties, we thought we would try a breakfast version with our Sweet Blend. We used hazelnuts, cashews and almonds but try Brazil nuts or walnuts too.
Serves: Enough for topping your porridge on 4 mornings!
Ingredients:
3 tsps Spice Pots Sweet Spice Blend
1 tbsp sunflower oil
2 tbsp runny honey
200g mixed nuts - we used cashews, hazelnuts and almonds
Place the nuts in a small bowl. In a little jug or bowl, mix the sweet spice and oil. (We found it easiest to put in the spice first, then pour in the oil to make a paste.) Then add half of the honey (1 tbsp). Mix well then pour over the nuts and mix again, making sure the nuts are nice and coated.
Place on a baking tray, in a single layer, then roast in the oven for 10 mins on 150 fan or 170. After 10 minutes, add the remaining honey and bake for another 5 mins.
Allow to cool then store until breakfast, when you can top your porridge with these deliciously spiced nuts to get you off to a cracking start in the morning.
