Who we are

Spice Pots is a brand of Natural Larder Collective Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC541901), registered office Unit 8, Haddington Retail Park, Haddington, EH41 3FW. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. Questions? Email info@spicepots.com.

What we collect

  • When you order: your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, and what you bought. Card payments are handled by our payment providers (Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, PayPal and others shown at checkout); we never see or store your full card number.
  • When you sign up for emails: your email address and what you've told us you're interested in.
  • When you contact us: what you send through the chat assistant, contact form or email.
  • When you leave a review: your name, review and any photos.
  • When you browse: device and usage information collected through cookies, such as pages visited and how you arrived. See "Cookies" below.

How we use it, and why

  • To take, pack, deliver and support your orders (to perform our contract with you).
  • To answer your questions (our legitimate interest in helping customers).
  • To send marketing emails, only if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in every email (your consent).
  • To improve our website and see which marketing works (with your consent where cookies are involved).
  • To prevent fraud and meet our legal and tax obligations (legal obligation and legitimate interest).

Who we share it with

Only the service providers who help us run the shop, each under contract to protect your data:

  • Shopify (our online shop and checkout) and our payment providers
  • Royal Mail and FedEx (deliveries)
  • Klaviyo (emails, if you've signed up)
  • Judge.me (reviews)
  • Google Analytics (website analytics, with your consent)
  • Our chat assistant, which is powered by Claude (made by Anthropic). Please don't share payment details in the chat.

We never sell your personal information.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to make the shop work, and, with your consent, analytics and marketing cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on our website, or through your browser.

Where your data goes

Some of our providers store data outside the UK, including in the US and Canada. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, UK-approved standard contractual clauses or another legal safeguard.

How long we keep it

Order records: 6 years, for tax purposes. Marketing details: until you unsubscribe. Chat and contact messages: up to 2 years. Reviews: while they're shown on our site.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to access, correct, delete or move your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email info@spicepots.com and we'll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).

Children

Our shop isn't aimed at children under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
