Quick Flatbread Recipe
Ingredients
- 200g/7oz plain or wholemeal flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- 100ml warm water
- 2 tbsp oil (sunflower, olive or vegetable), plus extra for cooking
-
Place the flour and salt in a large bowl and add the water, then mix together.
-
Add the oil and knead the dough for around 5 minutes. If it is too sticky add a little more flour, if it is too dry add a splash of water.
-
Divide the dough into four balls, then roll out each ball of dough to approx 0.5cm thick. Keep sprinkling flour on the surface to avoid the bread sticking.
- Heat a large frying pan then smear a little oil over the pan with kitchen paper. Cook each flatbread for about two minutes on one side, then turn and cook for a couple of minutes on the other side
Recipe Tips
You can make a large batch of these and freeze for next time. Roll out into rounds, then separate each with grease-proof paper. You can cook from frozen in the same way, although they will take a little longer.
